Plant Jivika is purposefully designed to respect your peace of mind. Your plant profiles, care notes, schedules, and photos are stored strictly on your device. We do not require an account, we do not sell your personal data, and we do not run third-party advertising SDKs or tracking pixels.

Plant Jivika (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is dedicated to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy applies to the Plant Jivika mobile application (Android package: com.plantjivika.app) and the companion website (https://plantjivika.com).
Our core philosophy is simple: technology should serve your garden, not harvest your personal details. This Privacy Policy explains what information is handled by the application, how it is stored, and your rights.
2. Information We Handle
A. Data Stored Locally on Your Device
All core features of Plant Jivika operate locally on your phone:
- Plant Profiles: Names, botanical species, nicknames, room locations, watering intervals, misting intervals, and care notes.
- Care Logs: Timestamps and notes recording when you watered, misted, fertilized, or checked soil moisture.
- Milestones & Badges: Botanical streaks and care consistency achievements earned as your plants grow.
- Plant Photos: Photos you snap via your device camera or select from your gallery are stored strictly inside the application's private, sandboxed document directory. Photos are never uploaded to any remote server or cloud service.
B. Information You Voluntarily Provide
Feedback & Feature Requests: If you choose to submit a feature request or bug report through the in-app “Request a Feature” form, we collect the feedback message and an optional contact email you provide so we may respond to your inquiry. This data is transmitted securely over HTTPS directly to our feedback dispatch system and is used solely to respond to your inquiry and improve the application.
C. Information We Do NOT Collect
No Account Required
No registration, passwords, phone numbers, or social media sign-ins.
No Ad Trackers
Zero third-party advertising SDKs, tracking pixels, or commercial telemetry.
No Financial Info
We do not collect credit cards, bank details, or in-app billing records.
No Location Tracking
We never access or track your physical GPS coordinates.
3. Device Permissions & How They Are Used
Plant Jivika requests only the device permissions strictly necessary to perform the actions you explicitly trigger. We follow the principle of least privilege:

You can grant or revoke any of these permissions at any time via your device's Settings > Apps > Plant Jivika > Permissions.
4. Third-Party Services & External Links
External AI Tools & Search Engines: Plant Jivika includes shortcut prompts that allow you to copy botanical prompts into external tools you already use (e.g., Gemini, ChatGPT, Google Lens, or web search). When you open external apps or links, your interactions are governed exclusively by their respective privacy terms. Plant Jivika does not transmit private credentials or automated API tokens to these services.
Community Links: Optional links to community channels (Instagram, Reddit, Discord, X/Twitter) open your external web browser or apps, subject to the privacy practices of those platforms.
5. Data Retention & Deletion Rights
Because your data resides on your physical device rather than in a cloud database, you hold immediate, autonomous control over retention and deletion:
- Item Erasure: You can edit or delete individual plants, care entries, and photos anytime within the app.
- Complete Factory Reset: Navigating to Settings > Clear All Data > Confirm instantly and permanently destroys all plants, care logs, and sandboxed photo files on your device.
- Uninstalling the App: Removing the app from your device clears all local storage, SQLite tables, and cached thumbnails managed by Plant Jivika.
6. Children's Privacy
Plant Jivika does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13. Because the application does not collect personal identity information, it is safe for family use and plant enthusiasts of all ages.
7. Security & Encryption
Because your plant logs and photographs reside in your sandboxed application directory on your physical hardware, your data is shielded by your device's native operating system protections (biometrics, PIN lock, disk encryption). Any outgoing user-initiated feedback transmissions strictly enforce encrypted HTTPS (TLS) connections.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy periodically as new app features are introduced. Any revisions will be published on this page with an updated “Last Updated” date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
